A BIT ABOUT CHARLOTTE
I first started training at BOXR Teneriffe in early 2015 after moving up to Brisbane from the Gold Coast to complete my chef apprenticeship. My now boss, Craig, and I fortunately connected straight away and he began to train me in boxing. I immediately gained a love for this sport, and it didn’t hurt that I discovered that I had some form of natural skill to it. After becoming a qualified chef, I decided to travel around Australia and overseas, continue with a range of study, become a Disability Support Worker & Special Education teacher’s aid, play more netball & AFL, and now here I am back at BOXR in 2018.
I have always known that I enjoy two things in particular – being active, and helping people. Luckily, as a Personal Trainer, I can now combine the two things in which I’m passionate about day in and day out.
In 2012, I was diagnosed with Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome, and I have since undergone three surgeries between 2014-2018 for Endometriosis, a disease which is becoming more frequent in women today. I am constantly using trial & error on myself to discover specific nutrition and training that can help symptoms and maintenance of this condition, and I am currently assisting other strong, powerful women who are also living and dealing with this syndrome.
As a chef, I have worked in many different establishments, but my passion always comes back to cooking whole, nutritious foods that help to fuel my body. Don’t get me wrong though, I will never tell you to eat chicken & broccoli. I enjoy food, all kinds of food, and I preach balance – I believe that everything in moderation is the key to living. Life is meant to be enjoyed, and it is certainly too short to not eat that piece of cake or drink that glass of wine.
I am here to help you, guide you, and motivate you everyday – especially the days where you can’t seem to motivate yourself. I will push you to your limits, I will believe in you, and assist you to believe in yourself. In return, I want you have the mentality that you are moving your body because you love it, not because you hate it.
